Anonymous said: Print more of your book? please?
I will not be printing anymore, anytime soon. I was planning on doing another run, but flipping through it recently made me change my mind. I realize it’s important to just put the work out there, but BL’s too poorly executed/poorly written to make me want to print more.
I will, however, have work in the next issue of Lodacal, and probably put out a short 20-40 page collection of new comics over the summer, though. Look forward to that.

Colored a warm up from a few days ago, just cause. I’ll probably be back to working on MW by the beginning of next week.

This was just me screwing around at two in the morning, after finishing up some work on Lodacal pages.

Anonymous said: happy belated birthday, man! do you have any silkscreen classes at your school? if so, totally take it- i took one last year and its pretty cool(time consuming, but hey, so are comics). it takes a little while to get used to the feeling of not being able to curve as easily (you use a razor instead of a pen/brush) and the amount of pressure you have to use, but it's really cool.
Thanks, whoever you are! And yeah, I took a silkscreen class at my school last year, where we would cut out our designs (with x-acto’s) onto mask-ease and then apply to the screen to print. It made getting complicated prints pretty difficult to make, so I’m thinking of attempting a more basic version of this, so the actual line art stays as clean as it was originally. That’s the plan, at least. I’m waiting until I’m waist-deep in my book before I start any other serious projects, though!

Pages 12,13, and 14 from Mother Wolf. I turned sixteen yesterday, so that’s cool, I guess. Got Pirates of Coney Island and Pat Mckeown’s new book, among other stuff. My stack of unread comics and books is extremely intimidating at this point.
ALSO, I’m taking a break from the book to work on my story for Rurucomix’s Lodacal Comix anthology. The issue has a great line up, so I’m real excited about that.

Pages ten and eleven. He’s listening to the Pixies.

Pages seven, eight, and nine from MW. Had a really tough time doing these, all the way from layouts to inks.

Jack Kerouac’s letter to Marlon Brando. Would have been pretty crazy if this version of On The Road had come to fruition, I think.

Pages five and six of MW.
I started this tumblr a year ago today, and it’s pretty weird that in that timespan I’ve gone from having one or two people looking at my artwork to a few hundred. So thank you everyone. Really means the world. Andddd for the new year, I’ll just be continuing to work on comics. Hopefully make a good one. I’d like to put more than one book out, so we’ll see. I think I’m going to try and learn how to silkscreen in 2012.
Also, because the entirety of tumblr seems to be doing this:
- The best comic I read this year was Lose 3 by Michael Deforge.
- The best album I listened to was either Souvenir Sessions by These Animals or Goblin by Tyler.
- The best TV show I watched was Breaking Bad.
Can’t think of any movies or books I read this year that were particularly great, so that’s that. Happy New Years, everyone.
