Getting too uptight about making comics, so I figured doing something like this would help loosen up my art. I used a bamboo quill pen and the shittiest brush I have, and busted this out in fifteen minutes. Felt good.
Comic making music. It just happens to be the real life equivalent to Scott Pilgrim’s Sex Bob-omb.

Ginger and animator Joey Adams sure could use your help. Their toddler, Ian, has been diagnosed with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (read how terrible the disease is). What’s worse, Ian’s twin brother, Henry, may have the illness, too. Tragically, Ginger and Joey lost their 16-month-old daughter, Gwen, back in 2009 from what also could have been HLH. The only cure for HLH is a successful bone marrow transplant.
What’s heartening is the animation community is rallying to help out the family with its medical expenses by auctioning off donated one-of-a-kind artwork. The Adventure Time crew has signed this poster for the cause. Please consider heading to its eBay page and placing a bid. If the price is a little steep for you, there’s a good chance you can find something else that’ll rock your cartoon world in this online auction.

My favorite part of drawing comics is putting the random bits in the background.
Been looking at a lot of Jose Munoz’s stuff recently, mainly Alack Sinner. He is the comics equivalent to smooth jazz. good stuff.
I’ve been pencilling and inking four pages a week, which feels very good. This page, however, took forever. Something about the ectoplasm-y thing coming out of her mouth and learning how to draw a violin (still not there yet) tripped me up.
